NerOcean participted HK Tech 300 Pitching Arena NerOcean Limited is proud to announce our participation in the “HK Tech 300 Pitching Arena” event organized by City University of Hong Kong (CityU) and part of InvestHK’s StartmeupHK Festival. The event brought together ten start-up companies to compete for the “My Favourite Start-up” award, providing a platform for young entrepreneurs to showcase their innovative business ideas and compete for seed funding, mentorship, and other support. We were thrilled to have the opportunity to showcase our innovative sensor technology for sustainable water quality monitoring and management. Our team presented our vision for the aquaculture industry and how our technology can make a significant impact on the protection and preservation of Hong Kong’s natural resources. We would like to thank CityU and InvestHK for organizing this fantastic event and providing a platform for young entrepreneurs to showcase their talents. NerOcean conducted the 1st Field Test with AFCD NerOcean Limited is proud to announce the successful completion of the first field test of our innovative sensor technology for sustainable water quality monitoring and management. The test was conducted on the Agriculture, Fisheries, and Conservation Department’s (AFCD) water quality monitoring site located at Ma Nam Wat aquaculture zone. This field test marks a significant step forward in our mission to develop innovative solutions for sustainable water quality monitoring and management. The data collected by the sensor will be used to monitor water quality, detect any potential issues, and inform decision-making processes to protect and preserve Hong Kong’s natural resources. During the field test, AFCD’s staff demonstrated their expertise in water quality monitoring and management by cleaning their water quality probe and explaining their work to our team. We were impressed by their professionalism and their commitment to maintaining the highest standards of water quality for the aquaculture industry. We are grateful for the opportunity to collaborate with the AFCD and contribute to the protection and preservation of Hong Kong’s natural resources. NerOcean Limited wins Silver Medal at the 48th International Exhibition of Inventions of Geneva We are thrilled to announce that NerOcean Limited has won a Silver Medal at the 48th International Exhibition of Inventions in Geneva, Switzerland. This prestigious event showcases innovations and inventions from all over the world, and we are honored to have been recognized for our work in developing cost-effective solutions for water quality monitoring and management. Our winning project, “A new generation of dissolved oxygen sensor using replaceable photo-sensing film,” is a novel device that detects and keeps a permanent record of the dissolved oxygen (DO) level in a medium using replaceable photo-sensing film. This device is unaffected by biofouling, providing a cost-effective method of DO monitoring over large water bodies. We are proud of our team of inventors, including Prof. Rudolf WU Shiu Sun, Dr. Vincent KO Chi Chiu, Dr. Ron NG Chi On, Prof. Roy VELLAISAMY, and Dr. Jill CHIU Man Ying, whose hard work and innovative thinking led to this exciting achievement. NerOcean was awarded EdUHK EASE Fund 2022-23 Great news for NerOcean Limited! On March 4, 2022, the company was awarded the EdUHK EASE Fund of HK$150K. This award is a testament to the innovative sensor technology that NerOcean has developed for sustainable water quality monitoring and management. The EASE Fund is a great initiative that promotes an innovative and entrepreneurial culture, providing seed funding to the EdUHK community to nurture entrepreneurship as a means of transferring knowledge for the betterment of society. We are grateful for this opportunity and believe that the EASE Fund is an excellent initiative that supports young entrepreneurs in the EdUHK community. We look forward to using this funding to further develop our sensor technology and make a positive impact on society. The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK) held the ‘Online Final Pitching of the Education and Social Entrepreneurs Fund (EASE Fund)’ event on March 4, 2022, awarding 12 winning start-up teams a total of HK$7.2 million in seed funding. The EASE Fund, established in 2018, promotes an innovative and entrepreneurial culture, providing seed funding to the EdUHK community to nurture entrepreneurship for societal betterment.
