EdUHK EASE Fund Kick-off Ceremony 2022 NerOcean Limited is thrilled to have participated as one of the 14 start-up teams in “The EdUHK EASE Fund Kick-off Ceremony 2022” on 10th Dec 2022. We were honored to have our CEO, Dr. Ron NG, CTO, Dr. Sam CHENG, and Chief Scientist, Dr. Ivy HO, as well as our Advisors, Prof. Rudolf WU and Dr. LEUNG, in attendance. During the event, we had the opportunity to meet our Mentor, Mr. Tony CHENG, who is the Head of Commercial at Merck Pharmaceutical (HK) Ltd. His insights and experience in the commercial sector are invaluable to us, and we look forward to working with him to grow our business. As part of our participation in the event, NerOcean was given a booth to present our idea. We would like to express our sincere thanks to the EdUHK EASE Fund management team for the booth design and arrangement. We showcased our innovative solutions for sustainable water quality monitoring and management. This event was a privilege for us to network with industry experts like Hon Elizabeth Quat Pui-fan, LegCo Member and Board Member of Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation; Mr. Ian Chan Chi-hang, Chief Corporate Development Officer of the Hong Kong Cyberport Management Company Limited; Mr. Jonathan Chan Pok-chi, Chairman of the Task Force on Youth Development Fund and Programmes under the Youth Development Commission; Professor Wilton Chau Chi-wai, Chairman of the Pan Asia Venture Development Platform; and EdUHK Deputy Council Chairman Dr. Terence Chan Ho-wah, Treasurer Ms. Imma Ling Kit-sum. We also had the privilege of meeting President Professor Stephen Cheung Yan-Leung, Vice President Professor Chetwyn Chan Che-Hin, and Director of Knowledge Transfer Professor Stephen Chow Cheuk-Fai.

HKTDC Entrepreneurship Day 2022 We were excited to participate in HKTDC Entrepreneurship Day 2022 with the support of CityU HK Tech 300. It was a great opportunity for us to showcase our innovative sensor technology for sustainable water quality monitoring and management. Our CEO, Dr. Ron NG Chi On, and Chief Scientist, Dr. Ivy HO Pui Yu, represented our team at the event and engaged with potential partners and investors, sharing the potential impact of our technology on the aquaculture industry and natural water resources. The event provided a platform for startups like us to showcase our innovative ideas and connect with potential partners and investors. We connected with other startups, investors, and industry professionals, exchanging ideas and learning from other innovators. We also attended seminars and workshops on various topics related to entrepreneurship and innovation, gaining valuable insights and knowledge. We are committed to developing innovative solutions for sustainable water quality monitoring and management, and we believe that our technology has the potential to make a significantimpact on the aquaculture industry and contribute to the protection and preservation of natural water resources. Our participation in HKTDC Entrepreneurship Day 2022 was a valuable experience for our team, providing networking opportunities and allowing us to connect with others in the startup ecosystem. We were honored to have our advisors, Prof. Rudolf WU and Dr. Vincent KO, visit our booth at the event. Their guidance and expertise have been invaluable to our team in developing our innovative solutions. We had the opportunity to update them on our progress and receive their feedback and insights. We would like to express our gratitude to CityU HK Tech 300 for providing us with the opportunity to participate in the event and showcase our innovative ideas. We also thank HK Tech 300 staff, Jiki, for guiding our advisors, Prof. Rudolf WU and Dr. Vincent KO, to visit other CityU HK Tech 300 startup teams and facilitating knowledge-sharing and networking opportunities.

EdUHK Mini Exhibition NerOcean was honored to be invited to the EdUHK Mini-Exhibition to showcase our invention. Our team, including CEO Dr. Ron NG Chi On and Chief Scientist Dr. Ivy HO Pui Yu, attended the exhibition, along with our advisors Prof. Rudolf WU Shiu Sun and Dr. Vincent KO Chi Chiu. The exhibition featured three representative EdUHK startup teams, including NerOcean. During the exhibition, we had the opportunity to introduce our innovative sensor technology for sustainable water quality monitoring and management to Mr. Sunny Lo, Chairman of Cafe de Coral Group. We had a fruitful discussion with Mr. Sunny Lo and received positive feedback from him. We are grateful for the opportunity to participate in the EdUHK Mini-Exhibition and showcase our invention. Our team is committed to developing innovative solutions for sustainable water quality monitoring and management, and we believe that our technology has the potential to make a significant impact on the aquaculture industry and contribute to the protection and preservation of natural water resources. NerOcean received 7th iCAN Top 10 Best Invention Award NerOcean’s invention has won Top 10 Best Invention Award, Gold Medal, and OCCIP Special Award at the 7th International Invention Innovation Competition in Canada (iCAN), thanks to our team’s hard work and dedication. Our innovative sensor technology for sustainable water quality monitoring and management has potential to make a significant impact on the aquaculture industry and preserve natural water resources. Our team would like to thank the organizers of iCAN for providing a platform for innovators to showcase their talents. NerOcean participted HK Tech 300 Pitching Arena NerOcean Limited is proud to announce our participation in the “HK Tech 300 Pitching Arena” event organized by City University of Hong Kong (CityU) and part of InvestHK’s StartmeupHK Festival. The event brought together ten start-up companies to compete for the “My Favourite Start-up” award, providing a platform for young entrepreneurs to showcase their innovative business ideas and compete for seed funding, mentorship, and other support. We were thrilled to have the opportunity to showcase our innovative sensor technology for sustainable water quality monitoring and management. Our team presented our vision for the aquaculture industry and how our technology can make a significant impact on the protection and preservation of Hong Kong’s natural resources. We would like to thank CityU and InvestHK for organizing this fantastic event and providing a platform for young entrepreneurs to showcase their talents. NerOcean conducted the 1st Field Test with AFCD NerOcean Limited is proud to announce the successful completion of the first field test of our innovative sensor technology for sustainable water quality monitoring and management. The test was conducted on the Agriculture, Fisheries, and Conservation Department’s (AFCD) water quality monitoring site located at Ma Nam Wat aquaculture zone. This field test marks a significant step forward in our mission to develop innovative solutions for sustainable water quality monitoring and management. The data collected by the sensor will be used to monitor water quality, detect any potential issues, and inform decision-making processes to protect and preserve Hong Kong’s natural resources. During the field test, AFCD’s staff demonstrated their expertise in water quality monitoring and management by cleaning their water quality probe and explaining their work to our team. We were impressed by their professionalism and their commitment to maintaining the highest standards of water quality for the aquaculture industry. We are grateful for the opportunity to collaborate with the AFCD and contribute to the protection and preservation of Hong Kong’s natural resources. This field test marks a significant step forward in our mission to develop innovative solutions for sustainable water quality monitoring and management. NerOcean Limited wins Silver Medal at the 48th International Exhibition of Inventions of Geneva We are thrilled to announce that NerOcean Limited has won a Silver Medal at the 48th International Exhibition of Inventions in Geneva, Switzerland. This prestigious event showcases innovations and inventions from all over the world, and we are honored to have been recognized for our work in developing cost-effective solutions for water quality monitoring and management. Our winning project, “A new generation of dissolved oxygen sensor using replaceable photo-sensing film,” is a novel device that detects and keeps a permanent record of the dissolved oxygen (DO) level in a medium using replaceable photo-sensing film. This device is unaffected by biofouling, providing a cost-effective method of DO monitoring over large water bodies. We are proud of our team of inventors, including Prof. Rudolf WU Shiu Sun, Dr. Vincent KO Chi Chiu, Dr. Ron NG Chi On, Prof. Roy VELLAISAMY, and Dr. Jill CHIU Man Ying, whose hard work and innovative thinking led to this exciting achievement. NerOcean was awarded EdUHK EASE Fund 2022-23 Great news for NerOcean Limited! On March 4, 2022, the company was awarded the EdUHK EASE Fund of HK$150K. This award is a testament to the innovative sensor technology that NerOcean has developed for sustainable water quality monitoring and management. The EASE Fund is a great initiative that promotes an innovative and entrepreneurial culture, providing seed funding to the EdUHK community to nurture entrepreneurship as a means of transferring knowledge for the betterment of society. We are grateful for this opportunity and believe that the EASE Fund is an excellent initiative that supports young entrepreneurs in the EdUHK community. We look forward to using this funding to further develop our sensor technology and make a positive impact on society. The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK) held the ‘Online Final Pitching of the Education and Social Entrepreneurs Fund (EASE Fund)’ event on March 4, 2022, awarding 12 winning start-up teams a total of HK$7.2 million in seed funding. The EASE Fund, established in 2018, promotes an innovative and entrepreneurial culture, providing seed funding to the EdUHK community to nurture entrepreneurship for societal betterment. This year, the program received matching funds from the Youth Development Fund to further support EdUHK staff, students, and alumni interested in starting a business in the Greater Bay Area (GBA), offering workshops, tips, and an online-to-offline platform for start-up team matching.
