23 Aug 2025 From the Lab to the Market: NerOcean CEO Returns Energized from Intensive Deep-Tech Training I’m thrilled to reflect on an incredible first week at the inaugural Deep-Tech Lab – Business Executives Program 2025, hosted by The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK). This first-of-its-kind program is meticulously designed to bridge the gap between groundbreaking innovation and commercial reality. As a PhD scientist and CEO of NerOcean Limited, participating in the Scientists Track has been immensely valuable. The learning was intensified by fantastic mentors—thank you to Prof. Kevin Au (Founding Director of DTL), Olivier, Marta, Mike, and Victoria Wang for your enthusiastic guidance, invaluable advice on my pitch, and for sharing the essential tools and hard-earned experiences of startup building. Beyond formal learning, the true magic was in the connections—meeting brilliant new friends from both the Scientists and Business Leader Tracks. This collaborative spirit is exactly what Hong Kong’s deep-tech ecosystem needs. I’m ending this week not just with new knowledge, but with a new signed book on entrepreneurship from Prof. Kevin Au and a reinforced passion to lead NerOcean toward its mission of making global ocean monitoring easier, cheaper, and safer. 22 Aug 2025 NerOcean Named Top 100 Semi-Finalist in HKSTP’s EPIC 2025 Amid Record-Breaking Global Interest A moment of pride and purpose! NerOcean has been selected as a Top 100 Semi-Finalist under GreenTech in the EPIC 2025 Challenge, hosted by Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation (HKSTP), which drew a record-breaking 1,200+ applications from 36 economies worldwide! This year’s competition was the largest and most international yet, making this recognition especially meaningful. It reflects the growing global demand for scalable deep-tech solutions – exactly what we’re building at NerOcean with our next-generation ocean sensing technology.   This recognition would not have been possible without the nomination and ongoing support from The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK).
